Zuhal Cakir
PhD student at Purdue University
Zuhal Cakir graduated from Bogazici University with a BS in Chemical Engineering in 2020, where she initially worked on biochemical network reconstructions and the development of constraint-based modeling in Prof. Kutlu Ulgen's Research Group. She designed electric double-layer capacitors using molecular dynamics simulations under the guidance of Dr. Betul Uralcan at Bogazici University. Currently, as part of Prof. Jeffrey Greeley's computational catalysis group, she develops algorithms to analyze high-entropy alloy systems. She is particularly interested in ammonia decomposition and synthesis reactions, using first-principles methods to predict catalyst activity and stability. Outside of her research, Zuhal was a professional cable wakeboarder, alpine skier, and competitive swimmer.
